The natural beauty of Cornwall
The Cornish coastline is no doubt one of the most beautiful
and dramatic in the country - from its pretty harbours, to the
stunning rugged cliffs and vast sandy beaches which are popular
for surfing.A visit to St Michael’s Mount, Tintagel or West
Penwith will not disappoint those who wish to explore the unique
qualities of the Cornish coastline. Trebah Gardens and the Eden
Project are just two of the interesting horticultural attractions
in Cornwall.
Cornish heritage and the arts
A popular destination for visitors is the Tate St Ives, with
it’s modern architecture and Barbara Hepworth sculpture garden.
Exhibitions at the Tate and the many other galleries in the
area, offer a wide variety of inspiration.
The Minack Theatre is situated in the open air on the cliffs
overlooking the sea at Porthcurno. Also in West Cornwall, Geevor
Tin Mine illustrates the county’s industrial heritage in a spectacular
coastal setting.
For families there are a number of theme parks and educational
leisure attractions such as the Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay
Zoo and the National Maritime Museum, which is located on the
Falmouth harbour-side. Newlyn’s Pilchard Works is another interesting
heritage museum.
